Congressman Dan Kildee honored at Boys & Girls Club annual dinner

A local organization held its annual dinner Wednesday evening where Congressman Dan Kildee was honored. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint celebrated the 13th Annual Suits & Sauce Dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at the Flint Farmers' Market. The dinner started at 6 p.m. with a silent auction and cocktail hour followed by dinner. The 8th Annual Patrick McInnis Community Hero Award was given to Kildee, D-Flint Township, in recognition of his work with area youth. The Community Hero Award was established in 2008 as a way to recognize an individual or group for a significant investment of time, talent and treasure in young people living in Flint. Kildee joins other past award honorees such as Dr. Nita Kulkarni, Judge Duncan Beagle, Detroit Shock, Tom Izzo, Congressman Dale E. Kildee and Mateen Cleaves.
