Congressman Dan Kildee on EPA Canceling Michigan Stop of National PFAS Forum

August 30, 2018

Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05) released the following statement following reports that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has canceled its trip to Michigan as part of its PFAS community engagement series:

"The Trump Administration's decision to cancel its visit to Michigan, where some of the highest PFAS contamination in the country has been found, shows their lack of seriousness about actually fixing this problem. For months, the EPA has claimed they want to address this issue, but has time and time again failed to show up and put in the work.

"Michiganders are struggling with the serious effects of PFAS chemical contamination. The Trump Administration needs to get serious about addressing this urgent issue."
