Michigan Democratic Congressional Delegation Applaud President Biden’s Nomination of Lisa Cook to Federal Reserve Board

WASHINGTON—Representatives Dan Kildee (MI-05), Debbie Dingell (MI-12), Andy Levin (MI-09), Brenda Lawrence (MI-14), Elissa Slotkin (MI-08), Haley Stevens (MI-11), Rashida Tlaib (MI-13) today released the following statement after President Joe Biden nominated Michigan State University distinguished professor Dr. Lisa D. Cook to the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors:

"Dr. Cook is an outstanding choice by President Biden to serve on the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. She has a distinguished record of academic excellence and public service and her nomination as the first Black woman to join the Board of Governors is historic. We know that Dr. Cook will bring her experience to the Federal Reserve to help lower everyday costs for families and foster greater economic growth. The U.S. Senate should quickly vote to confirm Dr. Cook to the Federal Reserve Board."
