Statement by Congressman Dan Kildee on Flint Aid Package in Congress

April 26, 2016

Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05) issued the following statement today after a federal aid package for Flint was included in the Water Resources Development Act: "There is an ongoing emergency in my hometown of Flint, Michigan that demands a response from Congress. After two years, Flint – a city of 100,000 people – still does not have access to safe water. "As a country, we have always come together to help those in need. Congress has acted countless times to provide aid to other Americans in crisis – they must also act now to help Flint families. Both the Senate and House should take up a Flint aid bill without further delay. Along with Michigan Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters, I will not stop fighting to ensure that Flint families have access to safe drinking water."
