Press Release

FLINT – Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05) today issued the following statement after it was announced that General Motors will invest $877 million in the Flint Assembly Plant:

“Flint is the birthplace of General Motors and we are proud to have them invest in our community. GM’s new investment means that our workers will continue to build award-winning vehicles right here in Flint to be sold around the world. Over $1.8 billion in combined investments by GM in recent years is an economic boon for the city and is helping to employ thousands of local workers. “The men and women of the Flint Assembly plant deserve praise for continuing to produce such great products. These new investments are a testament to their hard work year after year to build award-winning trucks. I am proud of our city’s workers and thrilled that additional investments by GM will mean that our workers will continue to build cutting-edge and innovative vehicles for decades to come.”
