Statement by Congressman Dan Kildee on the Passing of Frank Kelley

March 6, 2021

FLINT—Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05), Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus, issued the following statement today on the passing of former Michigan Attorney General Frank J. Kelley:

"I am deeply saddened to learn of Frank Kelley's passing. As our state's longest-serving Attorney General, Frank was a force for good, championing consumer protections and safeguarding our environment. Frank changed the lives of every Michigander for the better.

"Frank was a mentor and friend. Throughout my time in elected office, Frank was always willing to lend his support, including when I ran for Genesee County Treasurer. I will always cherish the memories of working with him on Michigan's bipartisan Land Use Leadership Council, which Frank co-chaired with former Governor William Milliken.

"Jennifer and I extend our deepest condolences to Frank's family and loved ones during this difficult time."
