Statement by Congressman Dan Kildee on President-elect Biden’s Nomination of Governor Jennifer Granholm as Secretary of Energy
WASHINGTON—Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05), Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus, issued the following statement today after President-elect Joe Biden nominated former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm to serve as Secretary of Energy:

Under GovernorGranholm's leadership, Michigan led the way in new green energy investments, including hybrid electric vehicles, advanced battery technologies and wind turbines. Her bold vision helped to create thousands of good-paying renewable energy jobs across our state. I know that Governor Granholmunderstands the importance of supporting the American automotive industry by investing in electric vehicles, as well as combating climate change to protect our planet and the Great Lakes.
