Statement by Congressman Dan Kildee on President Obama’s State of the Union Address

Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05) issued the following statement after President Barack Obama delivered his final State of the Union address before a joint session of Congress: “Tonight President Obama challenged us to rise above partisan politics and work together – Democrats, Republicans and those in between – on the many important issues facing our nation. As the President said, that does not mean we have to agree on everything – we are a big country with diverse views. But we cannot let another election year and a broken political system paralyze progress when it comes to growing our economy and creating more opportunity for hardworking families. This year should be a year of action for Congress and I look forward to working with anyone, from any party, to get things done for the American people.” ###
