WASHINGTON—Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05), Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus, issued the following statement today after the U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation to provide Americans with $2,000 direct payments:
“While the coronavirus relief bill becoming law is welcome news, President Trump’s delay in signing held up vital assistance, including $600 direct payments and unemployment benefits to millions of Americans. The president’s inaction made an already stressful holiday season worse for Michigan families and small businesses.
